Part-time LINC Instructor (15 hrs per week)

Start date:

August 30, 2010

Duties:

  • To teach listening, speaking, reading and writing skills to a split LINC 4-5 class
  • To create a positive and dynamic learning environment
  • To use a variety of up-to-date teaching/learning strategies and approaches
  • To provide leadership in a multicultural classroom
  • To evaluate students’ progress using a variety of approaches and techniques, including formative and summative assessment
  • To demonstrate a sensitivity to intercultural communication
  • To deliver meaningful and creative lessons based on students’ learning needs
  • To implement LINC Curriculum Guidelines and follow Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) standards
  • To identify learning objectives and develop monthly training plans
  • To actively participate and contribute to teacher meetings

Qualifications:

  • A university degree, preferably in Education or Applied Linguistics. Master’s degree preferred
  • TESL certificate and a TESL Ontario membership
  • At least 3 years experience teaching all four language competencies in an interactive and highly structured environment
  • Experience teaching writing courses desirable
  • Knowledge of and experience with CLB
  • Experience working with all LINC levels
  • Experience developing learning and assessment materials
  • A good understanding of adult teaching methods and andragogy
  • Knowledge of foreign languages and cultures desirable

Cultural Interpreters for Afghanistan

Graybridge Malkam is looking for Cultural interpreter who have lived and worked in Afghanistan or one of its neighbouring countries to deliver workshops in intercultural effectiveness.

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience living and working in Afghanistan;
  • Experience working with government departments and agencies representing Canada abroad;
  • Ability to facilitate in French;
  • Qualifications in adult education (an asset).

French Instructors

Graybridge Malkam is seeking qualified French as a Second Language instructors to coach highly motivated professionals on a one-to-one and small group basis.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant area
  • At least two years' relevant teaching experience
  • A relevant teaching certificate
  • A good understanding of adult teaching methods and andragogy
  • Knowledge of foreign languages and cultures
  • The ability to teach all four language competencies
  • Experience teaching in a workplace setting
  • An engaging personality and enthusiastic demeanor
