Project Design
Graybridge Malkam’s team of highly experienced consultants can conduct Canada-based and field research, participate in and lead scoping missions, and write project concept papers. We are skilled in preparing Logical Framework Analyses (LFAs), writing Results-Based Management Accountability Frameworks (RMAFs/ RBAFs), producing gender strategies, and preparing other project design and approval documentation such as Project Approval Documents (PAD), Treasury Board Submissions, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and Management Strategies.

  • Conducted field research, preparing project approval documentation, LFAs, Work Breakdown Structures and Management Strategies for:
    • A $40 million dollar Social Infrastructure Project in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
    • Two medium-sized projects in northern Ghana on Food Security and Water Management (worth $15 million and $30 million, respectively).
    • A two-year $8.5 million dollar Education project in Kenya.
    • A 4-year $5 million dollar Governance project in Kenya.
  • Drafted Project Approval Documentation for:
    • An $8.6 million Capacity Building and Poverty Reduction project in northern Pakistan for CIDA's Pakistan Program.
    • A two-year $8.5 million Education project in Kenya.
    • A 4-year $5 million dollar Governance project in Kenya.
  • Prepared a Treasury Board Submission for:
    • A $40 million Social Infrastructure Project in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
    • A $30 million Water and Sanitation Project in Ghana.
  • Wrote a concept paper on:
    • Supporting Elections in Tanzania through pooled funding arrangements with the UNDP.
    • A Hydrogeological Study in Northern Ghana.

Project Management
Our consultants are experienced at developing project implementation specifications and designing and implementing sourcing and recruitment strategies for project staff, consultants and technical experts and advisors. Graybridge Malkam can also help with financial management, strategic planning, and overseeing coordination between Canadian and field offices.

  • Developed Terms of Reference for:
    • A Gender Specialist as part of a $40 million Social Infrastructure Project in the Commonwealth Caribbean.
    • Water Monitors for CIDA’s Ethiopia Program.
  • Developed a Gender Strategy for a $5 million Judicial Reform Project in China.
  • Wrote a Project Implementation Plan and Gender Strategy for a $3.1 million joint CIDA-Natural Resources Canada Project in China to reduce CO2 emissions from Coal-fired Utility Burners.
  • Managed a Water Sector Portfolio of projects up to $12 million on rural water supply and sanitation in Ghana, and developed Project Transition Plans and Performance Measurement Frameworks (RBAF/RMAF).
  • Managed a $4.74 million Women’s Support Project (WSP I) in Indonesia to enhance women’s role and participation in the social and economic development of Indonesia.
  • Screened Civil Society project proposals for appropriate Management Structures and RBM frameworks.

Recruitment and Screening

Graybridge Malkam will coordinate study tours and cultural orientation programs for foreign trainees coming to Canada. We also conduct field research on lessons learned, prepare ministerial briefing books and much more.

  • Researched and analyzed Financial and Procurement aspects of New Programming Delivery Approaches (i.e. SWAPs, budgetary support, delegated country procurement).

  • Managed Civil Society Proposal Submissions, provided RBM frameworks, and communicated with CIDA’s Policy Branch on a Voluntary Sector Initiative.
  • Researched and assessed Human Resource Training Needs among locally engaged staff overseas.
  • Screened Funding Proposals for CIDA’s Conference Secretariat.
