Accommodations
For those who are joining us in Ottawa for the English Language Summer Tour Program, there are three choices with respect to accommodations.

Option One - by far the most popular choice, has you staying with a local English-speaking
        family.

Option Two - allows for staying at a hotel.
Option Three - has you staying on campus at the local university.
Option One: Home-stay
Each sponsoring home-stay family is carefully interviewed by the home-stay coordinator to ensure a positive environment. All home-stay sites have undergone a police criminal check to ensure your safety and comfort. The home-stay coordinator will make every attempt to find a new placement at no extra charge if you are not satisfied with your placement prior to the end of the third day of your stay.

Why is home-stay so popular?
  • It is a friendly environment, one that is best suited to practice your English.
  • You get a safe, secure, clean and private room in a sponsoring house.
  • It includes, as a minimum: bed, desk, chair, dresser, study lamp, access to kitchen, refrigerator, microwave, family room including television and radio, and bathroom.
  • You have access to laundry facilities, towels and bed linens.
  • It includes three healthy meals per day including a packed lunch for language school.
  • You have easy access to language school and other amenities.

Option Three: University Accommodations
Ottawa is home to the University of Ottawa and Carleton University, both of which offer summer residence accommodation. If you prefer a university setting, our coordinator can arrange for you to enjoy all of the amenities and social benefits of living on campus. Language-school participants may choose to stay at either residence. A variety of packages are available ranging in price from $23 to $50 per day. Packages may include the following:
  • A private one-room residence.
  • A shared suite with two bedrooms.
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner (or plans without meals).
  • Kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave.
  • Telephone.
  • Television and cable.
  • Air conditioning.
  • Private or shared bathroom facilities.
  • Access to campus activities, restaurants, pubs.
