Johanne Bourbonnais brings to the Graybridge Malkam team 15 years of experience as a facilitator for intercultural learning and specialist in results-based project management. Johanne has extensive professional experience in the fields of human resources, international development, cross-cultural problem solving and efficiency. She has designed and delivered pre-departure, cross-cultural effectiveness and debriefing sessions in French and in English since 1990. She also delivers speaking engagements on "Ethics and Cultural Differences", "Constructive Living" and "Facilitating Organizational Change".
Johanne is an authority on the creation of shared meaning between individuals from different cultures and has developed a number of programs and strategies on change management and conflict resolution. She has also developed multi stakeholders' participatory processes for effective dialogue and has facilitated capacity-building seminars, amongst others, for women in positions of authority in the Great Lakes region of Central Africa. Johanne has traveled extensively in Europe, Africa (Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya), and the Middle East. She lived and worked for two years in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Johanne holds a Master's Degree in Communications from the University of Quebec in Montreal. Her thesis is entitled "Toward a definition of the cultural paradigm: A twinning project between newcomers and members of the welcoming society" [trans]. She completed a diploma in Adult Education from St-Francis Xavier University. In addition, she has certificates in Conflict Resolution and Result-Oriented Approaches to curriculum development. Johanne currently teaches a course at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières entitled "Interventions in a multicultural context" [trans] in the Masters in Psychoeducation Program.
