Mario Emond
Learning Specialist

Mario Emond has been managing, designing and facilitating learning programs since 1989. His areas of expertise include cross-cultural effectiveness, building diverse teams and results based management. He has worked and lived in Uruguay, Jamaica and Indonesia and has studied in Spain. He holds a bachelor's degree in administration from the University of Ottawa and a certificate in adult education from Saint Francis Xavier University.

Mario has designed and delivered learning interventions for several federal public service clients, as well as some private sector organizations nationally and internationally. He is a regular Facilitator/Trainer/Designer for the Centre for Intercultural Learning at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. Moreover, Mario has delivered diversity workshops for the Business Development Bank of Canada and Transport Canada, as well as results based management training at the Canadian International Development Agency.

Mario takes a very learner-centred approach to training. He emphasizes participation, self-awareness and practical, pro-active strategies for dealing with the issues at hand. He is experienced in all phases of the learning experience, from the assessment of training needs to the identification of learning objectives to the design of learning cycles and road maps and finally to delivery and evaluation. Mario's ability to be pragmatic and flexible allows him to move easily from the conceptual to the implementation phases of a project in an open and consultative process that reaches its intended objectives.
