Teresa Zabarauskus
WSIB Instructor

Teresa obtained her CTESL from Carleton University. She is experienced in teaching all levels of ESL. She joined Graybridge-Malkam in 1997, first as a Consultant, teaching literacy skills to help reintegrate clients into the workforce, now she is a LINC Instructor. Over the years, she has been involved in other areas of ESL such as administering incoming assessments to determine appropriate benchmark levels, participating in a focus group providing input on a CCLB Literacy Placement Tool, and joining the Western Quebec Literacy Council. She derives personal satisfaction from helping others and believes that learning is a life-long process. In fact, she can testify to that, having learned French as a Second Language herself. Her teaching approach is to begin with a long range plan taking desired outcomes into consideration, then preparing daily lesson plans, ongoing assessments, and final evaluations. She uses a circular syllabus technique for maximum exposure to new material, encourages students to develop successful learning strategies, and presents enrichment activities based on students’ abilities.

In her free time, Teresa enjoys vegetarian cooking, making crafts, doing yoga, reading, and keeping up with family & friends online. Her outdoor interests include canoeing, cross-country skiing, and attending Boston Terrier Club Meet-ups.
